A very good story By Skip As with all of Prudence MacLeod's books this one has characters that grab your attention and keep you dogging their steps from beginning to end. The 2nd book in the Nova series is as captivating as the first. A very enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing the next book in the series.

Nice photos of San Francisco By SK Like most publications of DK, an English publisher, its numerous color photos are its strong point despite the fact that in this book they are-- of necessity--quite small. While it may be a fair introduction to San Francisco, it almost entirely lacking in information on the rest of Northern California-- its title is misleading.

Splendid By philoctotes All of the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides I've ever used (and there have been many) have been wonderfully useful and entertaining. The quality of their graphics and information on major (and some minor) sights are without competition among international city travel guides such as Fodor and Lonely Planet. When traveling, first I read several other city guides, however, it's the DK Eyewitness guides I pack to take with me.In short: they're beautiful, authoritative, and easy to use. A good investment for the world traveler.

There are details about a lot of things in the City By The Bay (nickname for San Francisco). This is a nice big book in which I can look up a lot of things quite easily. They don't call this series "the guides that show you what others only tell you" just for nothing! I like how they made a nice big section for the Golden Gate Bridge, also--they did an authentic drawing of it. The Bridge is 8,981 feet long altogether, or 1.7 miles. You can also read about the Cable Car in the book, and the Transamerica Pyramid. A really nice book!

About the Author Kevin Revolinski is an amateur beer snob and born-again ale drinker with a writing habit. A Wisconsin native, he has written for a variety of publications including The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Wisconsin State Journal and many postcards to his grandmother. He's appeared on The Today Show and Wisconsin Public Radio talking about beer. He really loves it! There are detailed descriptions of dozens of breweries-large and small- throughout Wisconsin, the craft beers they offer, and lots of exclusive offers from nearly every brewery for the owner of the book. I recommend it for any Wisconsin brewery lover!

This book attempts to create a database of all Wisconsin beers organized by Brewery. Mine is dated November 2010 and currently somewhat out of date because it doesn't include Big Bay Brewing in Shorewood and their wonderful Wavehopper Ale. Nevertheless, it is a terrific compilation that shows the breadth and quality of the Wisconsin beer offering, many which you can't get outside the state. It includes dozens of breweries, together with information on when it was founded, brewmaster, address, phone, website, production, staple beers, rotating beers, info on tours and brewery visits/restaurants, including directions and nearby sights. It does include some special offers and an autograph page to keep track of where you visited. There is also a little information on where you can buy the beer.The book encourages you to keep it in your glove compartment. That would be an ok idea if it fit.The book is organized by region, which is good if you're planning a trip, but terrible if you are looking for a particular brewery, beer, or even town. I've been all over Wisconsin and know it pretty well: that doesn't help you find a particular town unless you also memorize how this author divides up the state into Zones. He does include a Wisconsin map, but doesn't include the zone numbers on it. Then he organizes breweries by town within the zones. There is an index, but it isn't at the end of the book (the signature pages follow). There is also an alphabetical listing of breweries, again, in the middle of the book. Other than the signature pages, there are no blank pages (other than the cover) for taking notes on which beers or breweries you've tried and how good they are.Bottom line is that there is a lot of good information here, which is getting obsolete over time, but I wish it were more intuitively organized or usefully laid out. As a home reference book for planning trips to Wisconsin it's terrific; as a guide to Wisconsin Beer it could be better.

Everyone wants to know where we got it, and it's been a major conversation starter with random people. Any time it's mentioned around beer drinkers, they want to know the exact title to buy it themselves.It took us about 4 breweries to have the book completely paid for via freebies from getting it signed.We love that it's sort of broken down by location, and that local food stops and the like are listed.It also tells you if the brewery serves food, has tours, and what sort of promotion you can expect in exchange for a signature.We learned our lesson, though - always leave the book in the vehicle between trips, or you'll forget it the one time you decide to randomly stop. We have been to one brewery some 10 times without remembering to get it signed... even better, it's a brewery in the same building where the book was purchased :D

By Rennyrij Don't be fooled by the obvious reprint format and typewriter font - this book, written in about 1903 by Robert Blatchford during his early 50's, is of the highest quality, and a more cool-headed accounting of the inconsistencies of the Christians' Bible than any other I have run across. (I'm sure I haven't found them all yet!) This is a book you could hand to a clergyman or a "true believer" of Christianity, without insulting their intelligence or alienating them (unless they INSIST upon being alienated; we have no control over that). His writing is measured and patient. He wishes to get across one idea at a time. And he does not seek to scorn these Christian people; he only seeks to gently persuade the believer to look at the biblical writings for what they are. I really like this book.

From the Author To me, Kambarington and the Lake are real. On a quiet night (or day), if I can close my eyes, I can smell the different smells of the cities, the smells of the bakeries, the blacksmiths, the harbor with its fishing boats, as well as the stables. I can hear the voices of the citizens, going about their day, hawking their wares, chatting with their friends, the sounds of children playing in the streets. I can feel the wet breeze coming off the sea, as well as the cool breeze of the mountains, or the warm breeze of the plains. I can taste the life that is new around me, though this world is quite old. I can taste the strong bitter lagers in the taverns of Sunnaria, or the sweet wines of Ippswich, the heavy meads of Caraway, and the light ales of Susquehonia. It is a world that I know as if it were my home, but then...maybe it is.

Instead of just dreaming it, Loki put his dream to paper and shared it with the rest of us. I would love to see more descriptions in the next book. Not so much as to bog the reader down, but enough to truly see Kambarington ands its residents as Loki does. The descriptions in Book 1 read like a D&D type explanation. I could SEE the items given to the main characters. Great job and I look forward to Book 2!

About the Author Christopher Zeischegg is a writer, musician, and filmmaker who spent eight years working in the adult film industry as Danny Wylde. He's contributed to The Feminist Porn Book, Best Sex Writing 2015, Coming Out Like a Porn Star, and a variety of online publications, such as Medium and Nerve. His first novel, Come to my Brother, was released in 2013 through Queer Young Cowboys. His industrial metal band, Chiildren, released their second EP, The Circle Narrows, in 2015 through Records Ad Nauseam. He appeared alongside Lindsay Lohan and James Deen in The Canyons, directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis, and in River of Fundament, directed by Matthew Barney. He lives in Los Angeles.

Fjerstad A couple of years ago, Christopher Zeischegg debuted as an author with his impressive first novel, “Come To My Brother”. Decorated as a piece of erotic gay fiction about vampires, Zeischegg displayed his ability to deliver a well-rounded, tastefully paced story that remained a wildly amusing read through and through.Now, Zeischegg has returned with his follow-up, “The Wolves That Live In Skin And Space”. While his first effort was miles ahead of what most first time authors have to offer, it was still cotton candy and baby steps compared to what he has in store for us now. The passages of cutesy sex and gore which we came to know in “Come To My Brother” come off like an episode of Sesame Street when placed back to back with the vile atrocities and deeply psychological trauma waiting within the pages of TWTLISAS.It’s safe to say that the book is primarily for a “certain type of audience”. Suggestively, those who are into extremes and the controversial, this book is almost guaranteed to take you to a damaged world you’ve never been to before and likely will never enter again. While the themes may feel familiar for some, the way that Zeischegg uses them is inarguably his own.Early on, the story was reminding me of the infamous movie, “A Serbian Film”, but as I got into the meat of the book, I found it to be much more complex than the film. While the two parallel in the department of maxed out sex and violence, TWTLISAS stomps out “A Serbian Film” with it’s scarring psychological metaphors, themes, and twists.I can safely say that this may be the darkest book I have ever read, with the exception of maybe “The Sluts” by Dennis Cooper, which is one of the only other pieces of media I can think of that would be in any way relatable to TWTLISAS. And although it is abusively dark, Zeischegg has an extreme talent with words and a loud, hyper-intelligent brain which may create a protective veil for those who couldn’t typically handle this level of darkness. His writing style, and it’s impeccable pacing, make for a story that is undeniably an addictive and accessible read, no matter how taboo the content.With “The Wolves That Live In Skin And Space”, Christopher Zeischegg has found a terrifying voice which is both original and imprinting. This is the kind of work that demands a cult following, and honestly it would baffle me if the cult didn’t form very quickly around this book. If the dark parts of existence resonate with you, you NEED to read this book. It’s a twisted masterpiece.

Chris Defines Dark Gay Erotica By Abby Wan Kenobi As one who has always been curious of what erotica from a male perspective would be like I will say I am beyond satisfied. I currently am reading this book on my kindle and get lost in the book every time I open up my fire to read it again. The writing is dark, twisted and f*cked up but you can not stop because you get lost in Danny. Not only is Danny Independent, he is hidden behind this "domineering shell" but really is submissive to love itself. I am not too sure what is yet to come in the book but I definitely get the feels that I never want to end...So long story short I would recommend this book to anyone who is possibly as twisted as me.
