About the Author Andrew McCabe is a writer and restoration professional based in Bend, Oregon. He is a fifteen-year veteran of the disaster recovery industry. He began his career in Portland, Oregon with a company called DowColumbia. Andy has performed every function of a restoration professional from mold and water technician to marketing and estimating. He applies his knowledge and experience helping contractors navigate the strange world of insurance claims. He is a licensed insurance adjuster in the State of Oregon and holds several industry certifications including Applied Structural Drying, Certified Restoration Technician and Mold Remediation Technician. After working for several contractors in three states, Andy opened the independent Xactimate estimating & restoration consulting company Claims Delegates. Claims Delegates helps contractors and property owners alike, navigate the world of insurance claims. You wouldn't build a house without following the blueprints, this book is your water mitigation blueprint. It is a step by step foolproof guide to systematically working a mitigation job. Everything a technician needs to properly document and justify the loss. If you want your techs to follow a step by step system to documenting a water loss job buy this book. It will pay for itself over and over again! Best guide out there for training your techs! 2 thumbs up.

I am now using this book and its systems to train my staff. This book cuts the learning curve for technicians and keeps every job folder updated with the latest readings of humidity and moisture % of building materials.
