About the Author Pearlene Kelly is an energetic Early Childhood Educator. For over 18 years she has used her Education, experiences and gifts to implement creativity ideas, activities and materials to guide and move young children in the path to choose their playing and learning style. By providing them adequate time to explore, play and interact, they find learning can be easy and fun while making safety a number one concern in their environment. Pearlene received her Child Development Associate from Chattanooga State Community College, . She was awarded Early Success and Project Reel Certificates from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Pearlene’s Education, experiences and gift for working with children has allowed her the ability to effectively lead and manage in the title roles of Supervisor, Assistance Director and Child Care Specialist. She is currently working at Siskin Children’s Institute. Pearlene knows that being an Early Childhood Educator is full of many responsibilities, roles and challenges, but like most worthwhile endeavors, it brings challenges, new experiences and rewards.

The bright illustrations really grab their attention. Our family absolutely loves the moral of the story. The activities included in the back of the book are a wonderful bonus. The educational tips for parents are also very helpful & thought provoking. I recommend Mr. Happy for children, parents, & educators!

My niece (she is 6) is a beginner reader and I had her read the book out loud to me. We both really enjoyed this book. This is now one of my nieces favorite books!! Its good book for children and adults because of the morale of the story!
