They become friends, and soon the chemistry between them cannot be denied. Robert, once betrayed by a faithless lover, believes he can finally build a relationship based on mutual trust and honesty. By It's About The Book 3.5 starsRobert Chambers was walking down the street with his friend Tim, (who I HATE by the way) when a homeless man asks him if he could spare $5.00 to stay at the homeless shelter. Robert has no idea why he does it, but he gives the man a $50 and walks away. Never to think of him again.A few months go by and Robert is in a pretty big slump. He decides he wants to build some shelves for his home, but not having a clue on what he’s doing, he ruins three boards, and he is off to the home improvement store to buy more. Can you imagine his surprise, when the employee who comes to help him, turns out to be the panhandler he met on the street. He is shocked. Not only that what he did for the man helped him get his life together, but how attracted he is to him. When Matt Cosgrove offers to build the shelves for Robert, he couldn’t say no. In the weeks that follow, Matt and Robert really get to know each other. They spend so much time together and Robert can’t stop wanting the other man. When Matt finishes the job, they have a celebratory dinner that lasts well into the night. This night changes everything for both of them. After being together for three months, they are both completely in love with each other, but when Matt’s past get’s brought to his attention, Robert will have to make the hardest choice of his life.I’ve never read a book from this author before. It was good, and I enjoyed it. There was only one thing that kept pulling me out of the story. The author uses some words, while writing the sex scenes that made me stop, giggle, and then roll my eyes. I’ve read a lot of books and I’m 100% positive, that I have never seen an author use the word cock snout before. Other than that, the story was good, the angst was low, and if you can deal with snobby bastards for friends and lots of hot as hell sex, then I recommend this book.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Book Review by Brandilyn By PrismBookAlliance 4 of 5 StarsFor original review see The Prism Book Alliance® Blog onlinePrisoner of Silence is a formula romance in a novella format. It is a quick read and can be satisfying if that is what you are looking for. We know from the beginning that Matt has a checkered past. We don’t find out until the climax what that past entails. Instead, we get to put it out of our minds and just watch as Robert and Matt grow closer and fall in love. It is sweet and hot, and you just want them to work it out. Then the obligatory wrench is thrown into the works. It throws you as the reader as much for a loop as it does Robert. By the time you find out what Matt has been hiding, you don’t want it to be true. You want it to be a mistake. Just like Robert. The part of Prisoner of Silence I admired most was that despite his friends being douches about Matt, Robert doesn’t let them dissuade him from pursuing a relationship that feels right. Yes, he does let their words throw him for a loop, but he confronts Matt about the accusations. I appreciated that scene, even if it didn’t end well. So often, I read stories where the main character listens to his friends and never gives the love interest a chance. Instead throwing a temper tantrum worthy of my pre-schooler.If you need a re-affirmation of the power and love and family, Prisoner of Silence might just be a couple hours well spent.
