My copy is on order and I am anxiously awaiting it. Mr. Wilson is a "one of a kind" when it comes to teaching. His enthusiasm for life and for children is overwhelming. I don't think there is one child, or one parent, that has not appreciated this man. He should be a model for all teachers, parents, and anyone that deals with children. As a parent of one of the children he has taught, I can not praise this man enough.

After reading it, my perception of the number of possible techniques that a teacher can utilize to attempt to get their class to deeply engage in the learning process has changed. Peter Wilson shares his intimate journey from unfulfilled working professional to dynamic teacher with a purpose. He demonstrates that there are so many more ways to get students passionate about learning when the teacher is passionate as well. I think that this book is a must-read for all teachers in primary and middle grades, but it is also a great book for parents and experienced teachers alike. It is so great to read this book and know that this level of instruction still exists in spite of the standardization movement. If only we could set the standards this high for every classroom!!!

Wonderfully practical book from a fantastic educator By MarktheBowlegged Educators and parents: I'm not speaking Mumbo Jumbo when I tell you to buy this awesome book. "Mumbo" is an amazingly practical and thoughtful read and is written by a fantastic and dedicated teacher. Peter Wilson uses super stories and offers sage advice on how to inspire kids, teach effectively, and live life. He teaches many subjects at his current school in Hartland, Wisconsin, and is widely known to make his math classes come alive. His blend of offering dynamic hands-on projects while ensuring basic skill mastery is marvelous. This book is excellent reading for anyone interested in inspiring students. Join him on his successful journey.
