Riddell On December 17, 1903 the Wright brothers took to the skies in the first airplane flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. On December 17, 1997, exactly 94 years after that first flight, Dave Moore took flight in a Bellanca aircraft but shortly after he left the ground he crashed into a wooded area in Steubenville, Ohio. Dave almost lost his life there in the woods but miraculously he survived and he has gone on to become a motivational speaker and author.In his latest book Gear Up Shut Up he talks to us about being a leader but as he points out in his book you don't have to be "in charge" to be a leader- you can contribute to the success of any group even if you are just a team member. He gives us examples in the form of the many experiences that he's had as a pilot and after each story he gives us valuable lessons and takeaways from each experience.His stories are edge of your "Pilot" seat exciting and he also engages the reader in some very high flying humorous snippets. Gear Up Shut Up is extremely thought provoking and you will remember the examples and lessons the next time you need to manage a difficulty in your life. I enjoyed the flight!
