Merrills’ books and three times I’ve been over the moon in love with her leading male hero. In Teacher, Danny Black solidified the trifecta. If you read no further than this opening paragraph then know right now, this is another 5 star read with my recommendation. Once again R.L. Merrill delivers a story with a unique twist that incorporates the world of rock-n-roll music. In Haunted, we lived with the band while they worked through heavy emotional barriers. In The Rock Season, we were concert buddies bonded by love for a similar taste in music. And in Teacher, well...I think you get it.From the synopsis you get the gist of the premise. For me, I think its a unique setup for bringing together Jesse Martin and Danny Black. I like to think they are fated so it would have happened at some point anyway. But in Teacher we get see people begin their connection with a working relationship where they are challenged by communications, an instant attraction, and two people facing changes to how they earn their livelihood.The great Danny Black is a man not to be trifled with. That he is a bossy man is no surprise; he leads a rock band; is devoted to his daughter, and has a generous nature. His generosity naturally translates into a controlling nature and well, he just can’t help himself. It's through his devotion to his daughter that he decides to get that diploma he missed out on so he can set a good example.Teacher is told through Jesse’s POV so I was quick to warm up to her. Jesse can be characterized by her sensible nature and the devotion she has for her family. One thing's for certain, Jesse is blessedly a straight shooter so the angst that will come cannot be attributed to her communication skills. About those communication skills; she is funny, snarky and clever and more than once she had me laughing. Jesse has a strong moral compass and likes to be self sufficient. But that doesn’t always work out for her, especially when Danny Black enters her world.What follows, the connection between Danny and Jesse, is tested from the very start. Issues of what's ethical in a teacher to student relationship are complicated by trust and poor judgment and hinder their development. It's not enough that the two have their own hang-ups and fears about being together, but they also share their world with a myriad of wonderfully crazy, sweet, and sometimes devious secondary characters who all have opinions about their relationship. Most of them are good and positive influencers but all it takes is one bad apple...(pun intended)It was only as the story was ending that I discovered its going to continue in two more books. I can't wait to revisit their lives and the many characters that surround them. R.L. Merrills’ storylines and characters are some of the easiest to just “get” and that is wholly attributed to her detailed and descriptive writing style. Once again she's confirmed there are many great reasons as to why I am a fan and its always nice to be proven right.

Hot For Teacher By Maria York ~ Book Boyfriend Hangover I didn't expect this book the way it was written, the characters surprised me and the story line was amazing!Jesse is a teacher who is amazing at her job, but lived with the bare minimum in her run down apartment, she helps support her parents as much as she can and she deal with RA! Shes a very strong woman and takes as much care of herself as she can!Danny is the lead singer of Blackened a rock n roll band, is divorced and has a preteen daughter whom he loves with everything he has! He also can't sing or talk due to just having surgery on this throat!But when Jesse walks into Danny's life all things and people involved change forever! Can this amazing couple make it or will the issues that come with their background keep them apart!An amazing read and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

The reason for him now wanting to get his diploma is a great reason to stay motivated By Bloggers From Down Under ** Provided on behalf of the author for an honest review **We meet Jesse Martin, a school teacher that loves everything she does.She is a girl that loves teaching, but as a teacher she is in a financial struggle.With paying bills and sending money to her parents she needs to find a job to help get her through summer.But how can she do that with the chance that her job may not be there after summer due to budget cuts?Jesse is offered a summer job to a student that left school at the age of 17 who now wants a get his diploma.The students name…. Danny BlackA famous singer, a rock and roll star.How will this situation work?Can Jesse teach this rock star what he needs to know?Is he even serious about the work that needs to be done to get his diploma?To Jesse’s surprise Danny works extremely hard to get this done.The reason for him now wanting to get his diploma is a great reason to stay motivated. Things with Jesse and Danny start to heat up, but as Danny’s teacher, Jesse will not let anything happen between them that will ruin his chance of getting his diploma or ruin her teaching career.So many things happen between Jesse and Danny that makes them both question if they will ever be together or are things going to just simply be too hard?Can and or will Jesse fit into Danny’s rock star life?Does Jesse even want to be in it?Will Danny break her heart?This book is a great read. It leaves you wanting more. So many questions to be answered, we cannot wait to read the second instalment to find out what happens next.RL Merrill again has produced another amazing read with this novel.A must for everyone’s TBR list.A definite 4 star read for us.
