Larry Ferlazzo writes another powerful, research-based book about student motivation By Dana Dusbiber Larry's newest book about motivating students is filled with meaningful strategies that help to create a classroom community where all want to succeed. The research-based strategies are presented in a manner which dignifies the reality of our students experiences and avoids the "us-them" language that often accompanies discussions of student motivation, perseverance and grit. Mr. Ferlazzo's books are especially powerful because he walks his talk daily in his own urban classroom. Teachers who read this book will gain a model for presenting the lessons in respectful ways and be invited to consider how they wish to partner with their students on this journey toward self-motivation.
