The explosive truth about America’s Revolution–a bloody civil war that was won largely in the South–that modern liberals have kept buried until now. In 1780, the darkest hour of the American Revolution, the British went down to the South and overplayed their hand. By burning the bibles of backwoodsmen and threatening their honor, the British ignited a firestorm. Ordinary folk from throughout the Southern colonies spontaneously banded together and rode for hundreds of miles to King’s Mountain in South Carolina to attack and destroy the British forces in the most spectacular, unusual and decisive battle of the war.Never heard of the massacre that saved the American Revolution? No idea that liberty was actually won in the South? Red state values of God, guns and guts are being dismantled by leftists airbrushing our past in order to “transform” our future. Review Praise for Ilario Pantano’s works of military history: "Pantano's story is a tough, gritty, no-holds-barred saga of war by one who knows what it's like to be caught in a crossfire." (Oliver L. North, Host of War Stories on Fox News Channel and former U.S. Marine)“The writing is riveting. The timing fortuitous. The message timeless. Pantano has given us more than just a war story. This is an American story.” (Michelle Malkin, New York Times bestselling author)“Suspenseful and involving…absorbing psychology.” (Booklist)“Vivid…Compelling… gripping style that carries the reader” (The Weekly Standard)
About the Author A marine sniper who once faced the death penalty for killing terrorists in Iraq, no one knows the theft of history better than Ilario Pantano. Unlike most so-called culture warriors, Pantano actually has the scars and he “knows what it's like to be caught in a crossfire," said Colonel Oliver North. MSNBC host Chris Matthews has said Pantano is “a guy who knows what he’s talking about.” Fox’s Sean Hannity told America that Pantano “belongs in Congress,” and Sarah Palin, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Ryan and Allen West have all agreed. Pantano is a tireless advocate for our nation's veterans. He has raised money for their legal defenses and has provided military commentary on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. His numerous articles, profiles and interviews have appeared in American Legion Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Soldier of Fortune, and TIME magazine. Illario Pantano is a real life warrior fighting to defend our culture.

All politics aside, this is an incredible account of the bravery and sacrifice the south showed during the revolutionary war. As a northerner, I can honestly say that Pantano is correct that these battles have been unjustly wiped from the history books and this is a story I will have my children read while I they are learning early American history. Well done Pantano and I look forward to any future work by him!

Excellently researched and dynamically written By Jude Eden After serving as a US Marine in the first Gulf War and in Iraq, Ilario Pantano continues his service to America with the publication of Grand Theft History. In this meticulously researched examination he exposes the historical revisionism that has buried the vital contributions of the South to winning the American Revolution. Through primary sources covering Southern victories including King’s Mountain (SC), Guilford Courthouse (NC), and Cowpens (SC), he educates the reader on how these and other battles turned the tide of war for American independence. He then catalogs the treatment, or rather the whitewashing, of the South’s contributions by American historians determined to eradicate the crucial significance of the southern militia – patriots clinging to their God and guns – in achieving victory against the British. Grand Theft History reveals and explores the “long march” culture war to cast the South as mere backwater bigots in order to discredit and undermine the very principles that won American freedom. This book is an excellent read for both history buffs and those concerned with the destructive “transformation” of the country we’re today.

By TAS Ilario Pantano has crafted an innovative take on the problem of the victors writing the (American) history books. Going back to primary sources, he puts forth a fascinating argument that since the Civil War, the role of Southern military resistance has been purposefully relegated to a relative afterthought by mostly Northern, mostly liberal academics. As a New York transplant and former combat Marine who has embraced the South as his new home, he brings a unique perspective to how important but little-known battles in the South made it possible for America to win its freedom.
