1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Charming and Uplifting! By SC Scáth Beorh’s “Oktober House” turned out to be the most enjoyable book I’ve enjoyed this summer. In the milieu of contemporary young adult literature full of cynicism, moral deprivation, ugliness, and evil, “Oktober House” shines like a gem. The author takes us to a word that is refreshingly pure, inhabited by characters that are innocent, wholesome, and utterly likable. Even though the story takes place in a foster-care house for orphans, there is nothing sad, dark, or depressing in it. Quite the opposite--it is heartwarming and delightful; it made me feel like a child again.Thank you, Mr. Beorh. I am looking forward to reading more of your books.
