About the Author Growing up in the quaint hamlet of Ester in the heart of Alaska, James Truett developed an appreciation for nature, photography and publishing at an early age.
He began his career as a journalist and photographer for the local newspaper at the age of 14, picked up his private pilot's license at the age of 17, and by the age of 19, he had moved to Seattle and joined The Associated Press, eventually becoming one of the youngest journalists in the world to be published in every major newspaper in the world. Over the years, he developed an avid interest in sailing, and has traveled extensively by boat, auto and air in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, Ireland and the UK. He resides in County Clare, Ireland, from where he manages his portfolio of art, photography and publishing projects.

This fifth volume of James Truett's books is in my humble opinion his best work yet. I cannot wait to receive my "in hand" copy to add to my collection. Of Irish descent or not, I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying the contents of this beautiful book.

Open this book and get carried away By laceweight The best ship is friendship indeed, James Truett, and thanks for again sharing yours through pictures and words. Your evocative photos and old rhymes carry us back or might instill the desire for a first visit. Even if only an armchair traveler, this is the perfect book for a quick retreat and refreshing renewal. Suggesting purchase in pairs, one to give and one to keep - just thinking about it makes me smile.

By Bridget WOW…. just BEAUTIFUL … this is definitely some of your best work to date … congratulations James… the imagery just comes alive and draws you in on each page, your choice of photography for this volume has got to be seen to be appreciated … the choice of colour along with the little Irish blessings is just perfect and makes for a true visual feast… a definite one to enjoy over a cuppa !
