4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Well written. By Amazon Customer Sorry no matter how well written a story is in my opinion leaving a book without a ending is just unacceptable. This is VERY well written but there is no true ending, you would HAVE to read the next one and if that does not end it you would have to continue with supposed book after book until you reached a true ending.

Gauntlett A really good, well thought out gay erotic shapeshifter novel. The big surprise in this book for me was that a woman was so able to get inside of the mind of a gay male so thoroughly. Ms Black writes with the insight of Patricia Nell Warren in this regard with the full blown eroticism of writers used to catering to the gay erotica market. For those of us who have always had fantasies about shapeshifters and vampires (none in this book) this is a book well worth reading. Do I think it is going to win a book club award?? Well maybe not unless that award os from gay men who appreciate that here is a new(ish) writer prepared to accept that not only do we have the same desires, fantasies and dreams as everyone else, but we are also a relatively untapped market because of some writer's lack of knowledge. Well done Ms Black, loved it

It seems that so far this year, just about every shifter story I've read that wasn't at least 100 pages was a waste of time, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The writing was good with very few editing issues. The characters were decently developed, and there was a fair amount of world building. Dialogue very well done. I liked that the 2 MCs seem intelligent, and their sexual chemistry was good. What was especially enjoyable was that this author chose to make her wolves - or at least Renaldo - different from every other shifter pack I've read about, with his ability to change appearance and scent. When he made a special "shift" during sex, I said "wow". I immediately went for the 2nd installment before I even did this review.
